An Idea: Lend A Leash

Please bring dogs into the store and don't leave them in the sun or car. Water bowl in the hall.

I saw this picture on Facebook and it gave me an idea. If someone wanted to develop the idea, that would be great. I make no claims that the idea is an original one. It doesn’t matter if it is or isn’t.

The idea is simple. Near the front doors of willing businesses, there should be leashes for pet owners to borrow: “Lend a Leash”. Leaving dogs in the car is unhealthy for them, if not dangerous.

The idea is not without problems, I admit. Many people have no sense of responsibility, at least not here in the US. I am generally pessimistic about people. But about pet owners… not so much. At least, I know some people are responsible.

You see, I know a few people would take advantage of it. Some people are assholes. I think the assholes are the ones who leave their pets in the car or in the sun. I think that most pet owners – the ones who care – would be grateful that they could bring their pets with them into the store. Even if they didn’t have their own leash with them.

I know it’s a lot of things to organize for something like this to work. I don’t know if people would even be interested in it. It’s only an idea. Think about it.

Thanks for reading.

I wish more store owners would be this nice 🙂

I really don’t understand why people bring their dogs with them when they go to the stores. The dogs only stay in the car in the heat. Our dogs stay at home. We would not leave them in the car or in front of a store. That s dangerous for them. They stay at home and we walk them before and after.
