From my office, I have a few places where the view of the railroad tracks is unobstructed by trees. This isn’t a complaint; I’m quite fond of the trees. But it does limit the possible shots I can take from my desk at work. No, I’m not particularly self-conscious about the composition of all these photos, why do you ask?
Seriously (or at least “less flippantly”): I can’t say what it is that’s awakened this fascination with trains. I Have been toying with the idea of putting together a model train set. I have been planning to steal away for a few hours and find a spot to photograph trains.
I’ve driven the stretch of road between work and home many times, and many times there are trains there. But they’ve never been quite so fascinating as they seem to be now. I can’t help but wonder if the fact that I’m not so focused (deutsch, english) on being the first to arrive has helped me see more things to like, and appreciate, and feel wonder about.
On the train in the last photo, there were probably enough parts to make five or six of those wind turbines.
