Mudde

I think nature is a great artist. From the biggest mountains to the smallest insects, nature and beauty are synonymous. Nature makes ugly or frightening things, too of course. I don’t think that mud by itself really is beautiful… usually.

The other day was the first time I went out specifically to take photos of trains. I didn’t see any, but I did have the chance to photograph other things. This summer was wet and rainy, especially compared to the last few years. The last weeks were mostly dry, and the mud cracked and curled itself up:

I’m not sure, but I think these footprints belong to a raccoon.

There is no water here. Once there was a puddle, but it’s gone now. The wet mud looks cool, I think.

English and German–I got the word “mudde” today 🙂 I still remember the mud pictures you took that day we traveled up Hwy 12 to try out your new camera. Those were some great mud pictures too. Special memories for me that day.

These made me think of those; but those were cooler. I’ll have to dig those up, perhaps.
