You know how you plan for something, and then wait for the moment to arrive and when it does, it’s… not really what you expected? I’d been wanting a shot of a train going south past Golden Hills in Colorado Springs for a few weeks now, and hadn’t had any luck capturing one. I wanted to try to get it coming around this bend, like this:
So I could capture the train strung out behind the locomotive consist… like this:
But it just wasn’t exactly what I wanted. Oh well. I’m disappointed the shots weren’t exactly what I imagined in my mind, but trains are still great fun to photograph. Four engines make up this train’s consist. The train was pulled by BNSF 4242 (GE ES44C4), and followed by BNSF 5500 (GE DASH 9-44CW), BNSF 6983 (GE ES44C4), and BNSF 9329 (EMD SD70ACe).
