Paint Mines Interpretive Park

IMG_9066

A short drive east of Colorado Springs in Calhan is the Paint Mines Interpretive Park. I’ll be honest, I have no idea what interpretive park means or what makes a park interpretive. We didn’t know what to expect when we got there, so we rocked up on a hot July weekend morning completely unprepared. (We hadn’t brought sunscreen or water we could carry with us. It was my fault, I thought we’d be able to drive through it).

We walked far enough in to get these photos, but we didn’t stay long. We’ll try again soon.

And if you know what an interpretive park is, leave me a comment and let me know.

These are really cool. I love seeing all the rock formations when driving through New Mexico, but what a stark contrast this, with these formations being stark white as opposed to the red of the South West. Very cool indeed.

Das schaut einfach genial aus. Ich sag es immer wieder, Mutter Natur ist die beste Künstlerin 😀 ❤ Würde ich mir sehr gerne mal live ansehen.
