Boeing 747: Queen of the Skies

So these aren’t the best pictures I’ve ever taken. But I don’t often see Boeing 747s coming into Colorado Springs. Though the 747 isn’t my favorite commercial aircraft, it is magnificent.

The Marine depot where my son graduated is right next door to an airport. Suffice to say we got to see plenty large aircraft take off all day long. It was pretty awesome! It’s amazing to see these things get up off the ground!

Yes, I’m a little familiar with MCRD San Diego. It was initially difficult for a guy who likes planes to concentrate there… but you get over that quickly enough.

I agree. It is pretty amazing. I love watching them takeoff and land.

This one was landing, but I was a little disappointed it didn’t come further over… I had to make do with these photos. Considering it was a speck in the raw photo data, they turned out okay, I think.

They turned out pretty good, I’d say. One of my favorite activities used to be to watch the planes take off from Lindbergh Field-back when we could get near enough to just park and sit. We even took you there to watch the planes. The other best place to watch them is from the freeway, but you don’t get to park there šŸ˜‰

I’m sure you found yourselves parked on the freeway more often than you remember šŸ˜

Probably since I do remember being able to see the passengers on the jets. šŸ™‚
