Autoracks – BNSF 5412

South of Larkspur, there’s an old Santa Fe bridge. BNSF 5412, a GE DASH-9 44CW, and BNSF 7254, a GE ES44DC, lead a train of empty Autoracks over the bridge and south toward Palmer Lake.

North of Palmer Lake is Spruce, where the Santa Fe and Denver and Rio Grande’s tracks crossed over at one point, a long time ago. Now the southbound track drops into what’s known as The Sag and snakes its way down through the Greenland Open Space and into Palmer Lake.

I don’t often get the whole train in the photo, and this felt like a win.

That is an awesome shot of that last photo. It is definitely a prize.
