There was a Mike’s Camera demo day at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo yesterday. I went and tried out the new Canon 6D Mk II and an EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens (wow, that’s a mouthful). The lens was pretty heavy, but it was nice to get just a little more reach than my typical 70-300mm lens gets. Such nice kit!

The 6D Mk II is really new, apparently there aren’t that many yet out. I didn’t get to spend a lot of time messing with the settings on that one; and after an hour, I returned it. I have been wanting the 6D Mk I since I used it a couple of years ago at one of these. I kept the 100-400 lens, but attached it to my own camera (an EOS Rebel T2i).

I will try to remember to mention which pictures I took with which kit over the next few days. It may not matter at all. I took this image of the moon setting over Cheyenne Mountain while I waited to sign out the stuff I wanted to try out. So this is with my go to rig: my T2i and my EF 75-300mm 4-5.6 III combo.

Der Monduntergang

Es scheint, der Mond in dem Himmel verblasst, und nicht hinter den Horizont verschwindet.

It seems as if the moon fades into the sky instead of disappearing behind the horizon.
